Chautauqua County (NY) Equestrian Trail Update

Chautauqua Equestrian Trail

In 2010 Alta worked with Chautauqua County to develop the feasibility study for equestrian trails in eastern Chautauqua County, New York, which was developed with a goal of retaining and enhancing the rural character of the County. Alta identified a 35+ mile equestrian loop using primarily existing trails and public right-of-way to serve as model for future equestrian development throughout the County and region. The final plan identified four phases of development; phases I and II are currently under construction and will be complete this fall.

The county was informed this May that they have been awarded an additional $148,000 grant for Phase III that will be combined with matched funds of an equal value! Construction for Phase III is anticipated to begin in the Spring of 2014. It’s always fun to receive updates from happy, motivated clients. Only 10 more miles to go!
